Yesterday, Sunday, we went to church in St George, Utah.  Another small and exceptionally friendly group.  I do believe every person there personally welcomed us.  After lunch, Mary Lee and I did the weekly laundry.  If any of you have done laundry at a campground, you'll understand how excited we were to fine 8 washers & 10 dryers.  We were in and out in record time.  David put the finishing touch on a great day by making a wonderful sausage/hamburger tomato sauce for linguine.

Today, we have been exploring.  Our first stop was Kolob Canyon.  One of the first things we became aware of in Utah is that it's green -- after so many days of brown, green is especially beautiful.  We enjoyed a  short hike on the Taylor's Creek Trail.  We've met really interesting people along the way.  Today we met a couple from Finland.  He took the picture of the 4 of us at the top of Taylor's Creek Trail.

From there we drove to Zion National Park.  Like the Grand Canyon, there is a shuttle service that stops at all the viewpoints.  There is a special shuttle that does the upper canyon, but reservations were required, so we didn't get to do that.  We rode most of the route, and got off at the last stop -- Temple of Sinawava -- where we hiked the River Walk along the Virgin River.

Awesome seems such an overused word -- but I don't know any other word to describe the beauty of God's creation.  Ken and Mary Lee were today's photographers.

  1. MaryLee - it's Julie (this is an old google id). Steph told me about this blog, and these are awesome pictures! The comment about photos can't do justice to God's beauty and creation is right on point. I've been to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Glacier Nat'l Park - and it's true. One cannot capture the beauty! But you are definitely trying - you should do a book :) Safe travels!
